Blog Assignment 3

July 19, 2009 2:30 pm · Posted by AlexandraM

If I was the Marketing Director for Free The Children, I would choose this photograph because it shows the joy that these children feel just because they are fortunate enough to go to school. Many people in the world do not have such an opportuntiy because they are from countries suffering from poverty. The work Free The Children is doing is wonderful, to be able to give children all over the world a chance to have an education! Education is the key to ending poverty. Once educated it is easier for them to get jobs and make a living. Without the work of this wonderful charity, many kids would not have the opportunity for a great future!

Blog Assignment #1!

Blog Assignment #1

My Life : You’ll never guess what’s next.

The new hit prime-time drama “My Life” details the lives of Alexandra and her bestfriends as they learn and grow during the long school year,  and into the hot summer. Filled with adventures and crazy shinanigans,  this show is bound to keep you on the edge of your seat begging for more.

This season join Alex as her and Sarah join the Yorkville Club as they try and get in shape for “Bikini Season” at the hottest spot for yoga. But when Alex’s new awesome Christina SwimWear bathing suit goes missing it becomes an all out man hunt (it was the last one in her size…). You’ll never guess in who’s hands they find it! And things heat up when Alex and Sarah become trapped in a crazy love triangle with TV’s latest “it” boy Chace Crawford.  Friendship’s last forever right? Or just until a boy breaks it up… You’ll soon find out what’s in store for Alex in this years number one new hit tv show “My Life”.

Be sure to check out our five page spread and exclussive interview with Alexandra herself in this months FAZE magazine!

My 3 sponsors and why I chose them:

The Yorkville Club.

I chose the Yorkville Club because I believe that physical activity is very important in a healthy lifestyle. Along with keeping you healthy it's also important in looking and feeling great!

Christina SwimWear's Via Brasil.

I love swimming and being on the beach. So why not do it in style?

FAZE Magazine.

With a magazine as your sponsor your guaranteed good publicity! (And hopefully lots of it!) The more people know about your show, the more likely they are to watch it.

How the Sponsors fit in?

Many of the episodes will have scenes filmed in the Yorkville Club along with it being mentioned several times a season. Whenever we're swimming or hottubbing or outside tanning, you'll be sure to catch us in Christina SwimWear, most likely holding a FAZE Magazine!

Will This TV Show Be a Hit?

Of course it will! People love drama! As long as the plot is good, the characters lovable, and you leave the audience wanting more.. You've got yourself a hit!

A quote to remember when things don't go as planned.

June 9, 2009 10:21 pm · Posted by AlexandraM

“Sometimes we need to stop analyzing the past, stop planning the future, stop figuring out precisely how we feel, stop deciding exactly what we want, and just see what happens.”

I can't remember exactly where this is from, but I loveee it! I just read it and remember that sometimes things that are unexpected happen, and you can choose to make it a big deal or you can choose to just go with the flow and see where you end up. Life needs a little spontaneity every once in a while to keep things fun and interesting and new. Everything happens for a reason and it will all work out in the end :).

Life as of Late

June 8, 2009 10:41 pm · Posted by AlexandraM

So...

Seems like I forgot some things last time I wrote, so I will get them all covered now!

My name is Alexandra Marshall, I have recently turned 18(Finally!) and am a student at Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School. I loveee dance and study numerous styles. I am very active in my community and love helping those in need. I plan on becoming either a psychologist or hair stylist after pursueing a career in dance.

My Platform is Teen Depression Awareness, I chose this because I believe it is a very serious issue that is over-looked and under-respected. Teens are more likely to be depressed and not tell anyone for fear of judgement, the more known this issue is the more likely less people will have to suffer in silence.

But moving on to recent news..

This last month I vulonteered to do hair and makeup at the Seven Ages Production of Beauty and the Beast. I had a blast and loved chatting with the cast and crew!

(Raine Kearns getting ready for the big show!)

I also had my year end show in which I was in tons of dances! Unfortunately I got into a car accident the day of, spent a good two and a half hours in the ER and did the whole show with whiplash and a slight concussion (like they say, "The show must go on...") It's a good thing someone invented pain killers!! The show was a success and I am really glad I danced in it still, even though I certainly paid for it the next morning ha!

I also got a team together and participated in Relay for Life which fundraises for cancer research, we had such a great time and I got to know some people who have faught the disease and listen to their stories.

This past weekend in Brandon was our annual summer fair. I was in the parade and my float won first prize! I also met Doo Doo the Clown and had a blast hanging out with him and some super cute kids!

I just love being someone that young girls can look up too!

Well Next week is exams so I'll be studying hard. Not to mention I just got a job! I had my first day as an employee of Garage today:) So far it seems awesome and I'm really excited to be a member of the team!

Can't wait for summertime, so close yet so far!

Cheers

Alexandra

Ode to a great how-to guide.

May 19, 2009 1:21 pm · Posted by AlexandraM

Wow. Blogging.

I always thought I was to tech challenged to figure this out. But thanks to some great instruction, here I am! :)

Well lets get started shall we.

These last few weeks have been crazzzyy! (yes three z's and two y's, that's pretty crazy.)

Provincial dance festival was last week and a bit of this week. My Flamenco solo won me the national dance scholarship and my pas de deux with Erik won us the senior ballet scholarship! (thanks Miss Kelly!) Two more dances tomorrow (group lyrical and self chore solo) and than just the gala on saturday. Than we launch right into the year end show which is on May 29th.

After that I should be able to settle down and focus on school.... and the Pageant! I'm soo excited, it might actually be ridiculous. The Miss Teen Manitoba pageant was such a great experience, I met a lot of really great girls and feel so fortunate to have made it to the next level. Everyone was beautiful and I will remember that weekend for forever!

Congratulations Girls! And see you all soon!
